Big Show def. Joey Mercury

The Straight Edge Society wanted revenge on Big Show for ripping CM Punk’s mask off one week ago. Although the gigantic Superstar was scheduled to face Luke Gallows, CM Punk changed things up at the last minute, ordering that his S.E.S. “Mystery Man” face Big Show instead. After punishing Punk’s unidentified disciple, Big Show unmasked him, revealing former Tag Team Champion, Joey Mercury! The World’s Largest Athlete then finished off his outmatched adversary with the knockout punch.

Big Show ripped off CM Punk’s mask

Moments after Big Show interrupted The Straight Edge Society – revealing a giant, reinforced ladder that he plans to use to win the SmackDown Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Sunday – the S.E.S. attacked him with united fury. The World’s Largest Athlete soon regrouped, disposing of both Luke Gallows and the hooded stranger before trapping The Second City Saint on top of his ladder. Then, climbing up to meet him, Big Show ripped off CM Punk’s mask, finally revealing Punk’s shaved head to the WWE Universe!

CM Punk forgave Serena; Luke Gallows walked out

Though CM Punk chose to forgive his Straight Edge Society disciple Serena for disobeying him one week ago – when she revealed footage of her falling off the wagon to stop Kane’s attack on The S.E.S. – Luke Gallows refused to follow suit. Though Punk overrode his objections, the “Sin-Free Soldier’s” defiance was noticeable when he walked out on his fellow Society members.

Kane def. Luke Gallows by Disqualification; Serena seemingly proves CM Punk’s innocence

After decimating CM Punk last week, Kane set his sights on Luke Gallows. Just like last week, Kane found himself tangling with more than just his opponent when a hooded member of The Straight Edge Society attacked him from behind, causing an immediate disqualification. Red with rage, Kane destroyed both the hooded S.E.S. member and Luke Gallows. CM Punk appeared to be next to suffer the same fate … until Serena revealed shocking news.

As she begged for Kane to release Punk from his clutches, she claimed to be able to prove Punk could not have been involved in the attack on The Undertaker. At first, Kane did not believe her and was poised to destroy Punk. That was until Serena proved her case in the form of a video broadcast on the arena screen.

The shocking video revealed Serena drinking in a bar – a behavior completely against living The Straight Edge lifestyle. The video closed with an irate Punk confronting her – apparently proving Punk was elsewhere on the night The Undertaker was attacked. After seeing the video, Kane released Punk from his grasp and exited the ring.

Kane vs. CM Punk No Disqualification Match ended in a No Contest

In his continued quest to avenge the attack on his brother, The Undertaker, Kane took on CM Punk in a brutal No Disqualification Match. As their emotional battle waged on, The Big Red Monster found himself tangling with the entire Straight Edge Society. Despite the odds, Kane held his own, capping off the battle by chokeslamming Luke Gallows through the announce table.

But the action was far from over.

With The Big Red Monster raging, Punk sought refuge by running out into the WWE Universe and into the arena lobby. Kane quickly followed and delivered a punishing attack, smashing The S.E.S. leader through two tables and head-first into one of the arena’s steel beams. Finally, Kane shoved Punk through an exit door, sending him running off into the night.

Rey Mysterio won the World Heavyweight Championship Fatal 4-Way Match

Uniondale, New York – Amidst the tumultuous fury of Fatal 4-Way, Rey Mysterio did what he does best. In the wake of Big Red madness, The Ultimate Underdog reigned supreme over World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, CM Punk and Big Show to become the new World Champion.

In a match where any of the four elite Superstars could emerge as the champion by scoring a pinfall or submission over any of his three opponents, pure bedlam was destined to reign from the opening bell. In the culmination of the absolutely furious battle, all four war torn Superstars eventually laid on the canvas. As the WWE Universe sat glued to the edge of their seats, waiting to see who would get up first, a rage-filled Kane suddenly chose to strike. Of the four grapplers, The Big Red Monster chose to grab Punk, dragging him from the ring and attempting to place him in a coffin. Though Luke Gallows rescued his savior, the recovering Master of the 619 quickly capitalized on the confusion. Dialing up his signature maneuver on “The All-American American,” Mysterio reclaimed the coveted World Title.

As with the majority of his storied career, Mysterio had to overcome tremendous odds to capture of his second World Title – the first of which he won in an explosive Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 22.

After The Undertaker – who originally qualified for Fatal 4-Way with a hard fought victory over The Master of the 619 – was found in a “vegetative state” by his brother Kane, Mysterio stepped up to heroically claim his vacant spot. Flying high in a SmackDown Battle Royal against the entire Friday night roster, Mysterio proved that no matter what the obstacle, he was determined to once again leap to the top of the mountain.

Along with his fellow Fatal 4-Way combatants, Mysterio was terrorized and attacked by Kane in the weeks leading up to the innovative new pay-per-view, as The Big Red Monster became obsessed with finding the identity of The Deadman’s unknown attacker. Their irate pursuer promised that at Fatal 4-Way, it would truly be a “fatal” night for the Superstar “guilty” of the brutal attack on The Phenom. Ironically, when Kane took Punk out of the equation during the match, he inadvertently helped to clear a path for Mysterio’s triumph.

Though Rey Mysterio has reclaimed ultimate glory at Fatal 4-Way, the greatest challenge may be to keep the title in his procession. With all of SmackDown setting their sights on the new World Champion, the biggest heart in WWE will need every bit of his desire to continue to defy the odds.

World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger, The S.E.S., Big Show and Rey Mysterio attacked Kane

After Luke Gallows emerged from the darkness dressed as The Undertaker to help CM Punk play a joke on the WWE Universe, an enraged Kane arrived to seek retribution. Before he could reach the ring, however, he was ambushed by The Straight Edge Society and World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger. Big Show and Rey Mysterio soon chased The Big Red Monster’s assailants out of the ring, only to hit Kane with an earth-shattering 619-chokeslam combination.

Rey Mysterio & Big Show def. World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger & CM Punk

In a tag team main event between the Fatal 4-Way participants, the athleticism of Rey Mysterio proved to be the difference. As Swagger was attempting to hit the Gutwrench Powerbomb on The Ultimate Underdog, Mysterio suddenly countered, crashing down upon “The All-American American” for the quick pin.

Although the victory gave Mysterio and Big Show momentum heading into Fatal 4-Way, the action did not end with the bell. Moments later, Kane reemerged, still determined to weed out the identity of The Undertaker’s unknown attackers. After he chokeslammed Swagger and Punk to the canvas, Kane knocked Big Show from the ring apron and blasted Mysterio with a tombstone. Finally, Kane proclaimed that this Sunday, “it will be a fatal night for the guilty party.”

Fatal 4-Way confrontation

At the start of the night, Rey Mysterio, Jack Swagger, CM Punk and Big Show confronted each other in the ring about their impending World Title Match at Fatal 4-Way. Ultimately Kane got the last word, when he appeared on the arena screen vowing vengeance for his brother, The Undertaker. He went on to back up his words as the night progressed.

Big Show def. CM Punk by Disqualification

In their first one-on-one encounter ever, Big Show and CM Punk were eager to prove their mettle before they collide for the World Title at Fatal 4-Way. It didn’t take long to see that The World’s Largest Athlete was clearly the more dominate force. But when he attempted to rip the mask off CM Punk, Luke Gallows and the mysterious hooded S.E.S. stranger attacked him, resulting in an immediate disqualification win for Big Show. Punk and Serena followed up with a few cheap shots of their own. As the S.E.S. continued its assault on Big Show, Kane entered the arena to put an exclamation point on his night of carnage by chokeslamming the hooded stranger, Gallows and the 500-pound Big Show! Only Punk and Serena escaped his wrath.
