WWE has created a new entrance set for non-televised live events that captures the feel of WWE’s outstanding television productions of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown.

Measuring 20 feet high and 40 feet wide, the spectacular new set weighs more than a ton and fills an entire tractor trailer from back to front and top to bottom. It is comprised of thousands of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and requires more than four hours of set-up time before each live event. To fully deliver an experience similar to that seen every week on WWE’s television productions, the three sets (Raw, SmackDown and one backup) were an investment of more than 1.5 million dollars.

The new set was introduced at both the Raw and SmackDown live events between Christmas and New Year’s Day. WWE.com was on hand in WWE’s home state capital of Hartford, Conn. for the final Raw live event of 2011, where the new set garnered reactions to from our Superstars, Divas and most importantly, you … our fans.

It’s strange to think that, around this time last year, The Nexus was terrorizing John Cena, The Rock’s return was a fanboy fantasy, “King Sheamus” was still reigning supreme, Dolph Ziggler was dating Vickie Guerrero and CM Punk was on commentary. Suffice to say, things went in a different direction in 2011, and as we cross over into 2012, WWE.com takes the next five days to review our 25 favorite moments from the long, strange trip of these last twelve months. Check back each day for five new videos and see if your favorites made our list.

CM Punk takes control of The Nexus
