NEW YORK – More than 16,000 raucous WWE fans packed The World’s Most Famous Arena, Madison Square Garden, in midtown Manhattan for the 25th annual Survivor Series. From the moment the event went on the air, New York City’s delegation of the WWE Universe made it clear that their collective voice would be heard … all night long.
As The Second City Savior prepared to win his second WWE Championship, the WWE Universe proclaimed in unison, “We want ice cream!” to the Superstar who has been championing the return of WWE ice cream bars since this past summer.

CM Punk has been nominated for the Must-Follow Athlete on Social Media Mashable Award. This category honors the reader’s choice for the athlete who best uses Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Tumblr or other mainstream social networking sites.

CM Punk Interview
We interviewed CM Punk about dream feuds, disturbing fans and the division between sports entertainers and wrestlers in WWE.
On a tour to promote the new WWE ’12 video game last week, just before Survivor Series, we had a chance for a brief interview with the CM Punk. Last night at Survivor Series 2011 CM Punk captured his second WWE Championship, but before all that he talked dream feuds, disturbing fans and the division between sports entertainers and wrestlers in the WWE:
Paul: I have seen you wrestle for years, I used to travel up and down the East Coast to see you in Ring of Honor. So I’m a long-time fan.
CM Punk: What did you see?
Paul: I saw the Raven feud years, so this was 2002-2003.
CM Punk: *Whistles* That was 10 years ago.
Paul: The craziest thing I saw at the ROH show in Cambridge, Massachusetts was during an extreme rules match. It was something one of the fans did, which you didn’t see and I’d never seen before. At one point during the fight, you hit Raven with a piece of paper, and Raven’s blood got all over it and it fell to the ground and you guys kept on fighting in a different part of the arena; so this fan, this guy, takes this piece of paper with blood on it and he folds it up and he sticks it in his pocket like it’s no big deal. It was one of the most bizarre things I’ve seen in my life….
CM Punk: Yes, it’s up there.
The actor hasn’t spent much time with the rest of wrestlers

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
Monday, November 21 2011
Yes, Dwayne Johnson has action hero biceps, a megawatt smile, and an adoring public. Yes, he made a roaring return at Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. And yes, he’s a Hollywood superstar now, too.
But no, that doesn’t mean that The Rock’s return to the WWE has gone smoothly. Why not? Because, according to fellow WWE wrestler CM Punk, Johnson has hardly spent any time with the rest of the group. Instead, he’s acted like an ultra big shot celebrity, a brand name all his own, and shown little regard for the rest of WWE.
"You know, the thing about that is, he’s not around," Punk told the Daily News during an event to promote THQ’s "WWE 12" video game. "He’s not around. It doesn’t help morale when the guy goes right from his limo to the dressing room to the dressing room to the ring. He’s very bourgeois Hollywood."
According to Punk, Johnson has made little effort to interact with the rest of WWE, a show that is in desperate need of a superstar. WWE has struggled to find a new generation of stars, and ratings stumbles have shown that.

After losing the WWE Championship to CM Punk at Survivor Series, watch what Alberto Del Rio had to say about Punk and Interim Raw GM John Laurinaitis.

CM Punk def. WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio (New WWE Champion)
NEW YORK — The “Entertainment Era” begins now.
Making good on his pledge to beat WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio at Survivor Series, CM Punk became the 16th Superstar to win the coveted title in New York City’s historic Madison Square Garden after forcing The Mexican Aristocrat to submit to the Anaconda Vise. Now, The Straight Edge Superstar will have to live up to the second part of his promise — make the WWE Championship interesting again.
If Punk’s choice for his personal ring announcer was any indication, the man definitely knows what the WWE Universe wants. Recruiting WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel to vocally overpower Del Rio’s sniveling manservant Ricardo Rodriguez, Punk immediately thrilled the Garden faithful who fondly remembered hearing The Fink’s booming voice during some of MSG’s most classic moments. But once the excitement of the announcements subsided, it came down to two men fighting it out for one championship.

CM Punk and Cliff Compton recently attended a GNR concert in Chicago. Cliff posted a photo with the following caption:

WWE Superstar C.M. Punk Wants ‘Stone Cold’ at ‘Wrestlemania’
by Gordon Holmes | Nov 18th, 2011
This year’s “Wrestlemania” is set to be one for the ages as a legend from the wildly popular Attitude Era is preparing to square off against one of today’s top stars. I’m of course, talking about The Rock going toe-to-toe with John Cena. But could the WWE be considering a similar scenario with a few other names in mind?
“I really like C.M. Punk. I think he’s one of the top workers in the ring. I love his promos. I love his style. There’s no smoke and mirrors. I like the straight-edge lifestyle stuff he does. You want to start pairing that against the beer-guzzling “Stone Cold” Steve Austin? I think you’d have an interesting feud to say the least. He would push me to the limits, I would teach that kid a thing or two, and there would be some wonderful promos going back and forth.” – “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to XFINITY TV (April 2011)
I had a chance to talk to C.M. Punk about the possibility of a “Stone Cold” dream match, the significance of his upcoming title bout against Alberto del Rio at this Sunday’s “Survivor Series,” and the diet that helps him stay so skinny/fat…
Gordon Holmes: I have some good news for you.
C.M. Punk: Did you save money on your car insurance?
Holmes: I have, but that isn’t specifically what I was referring to. I checked out the “WWE ’12” video game last night, which is a blast, and I played a quick round as you vs. Alberto del Rio. I pulled off a win with your GTS finishing move. I think that bodes well for you heading into this Sunday’s title match.
Punk: That is good news. Thank you.
Holmes: You’re quite welcome. Now, what I wanted to ask you is; your title match at “Survivor Series” will be held in Madison Square Garden. Does the Garden still hold the same significance with today’s superstars as it did in the past?
Punk: Yeah. It’s special to me. I can’t speak for many of the other superstars, but I’m not a religious guy, and this is the closest thing that comes to church to me. This is my Vatican. It’s my synagogue. I love wrestling at the All State Arena in Chicago. That’s a very special place to me, and I’m not saying that the Garden is on a different level, it’s just different. Aftermath Radio recently interviewed "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Here’s what he had to say about Punk:
Does he feel that there could be one more match inside of him still? Possibly stepping in the ring against CM Punk at a future Wrestlemania: "If it was the right time, right place could I do it (have one more match). Yeah. I got a lot of respect for the kid (CM Punk), love the promos he cuts, love his work in the ring. He’s a guy that paid his dues, worked his way to top guy status, and I wish him all the best in the world. It’s a weird situation right now because he’s a babyface and I think he became a babyface too soon, and I would have liked to work him when he was a heel. It comes down to money and what’s on the table."
